I can’t believe it’s nearly the end of January; it feels like this month has flown. Speaking to clients and contacts it seems I’m not the only one who feels this way. So, before January is over, I think it’s about time to have a look back at last year and forward at the one that’s coming.

2017 was Campfire PR’s fifth year, and in August it’ll be six. The business is a bit different now to the one it was at startup, but many things stay the same. These days we aren’t working from the dining room, but we’ve still got great clients that we have fun working with, and we still put together senior, specialist teams for each piece of business.

2017 saw us busy with lots of events, from team building and internal parties to large client and city briefings. We also got involved in lots of multi-channel campaigns and content for inbound campaigns.

We ended the year with the fourth Campfire PR Christmas screening (Trading Places this year), a few changes to the website and a move to a new office. We’re now in Platform, the new tech hub right next to the station. It’s a great spot for us, and it has the benefit of being just around the corner from Layne’s!

So what’s on the cards for 2018? Well, more of the same and some exciting new projects with clients old and new. Plus, like most businesses we’re getting ready for the new GDPR. From our work in the tech and data sectors, we have a fairly good handle on what we need to do, and we know that being a small business doesn’t excuse us from the new regulations.

If January is anything to go by, this year will be a busy one. As GDPR becomes a reality and we move closer to Brexit, it’s likely to be one that’s full of opportunities and some challenges. If you’re planning for the year and want to have a chat about how we can help, give us a call or pop in for a coffee.
